The event was dedicated to strengthening international support for the specialized exhibition that will be held in Belgrade in 2027, with clear messages that the project is already generating significant global attention.

One of the key guests was the U.S. Commissioner for EXPO, Gavin Vaks, who arrived in Washington from Paris, where he participated in a meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Bureau of Expositions.

He stated that the United States is very impressed by the pace and seriousness with which Serbia is approaching the preparations.

"We see an exceptional level of dedication and professionalism. The United States strongly supports Serbia’s efforts in preparing EXPO 2027, and we are confident that Belgrade will be an excellent host," Vaks said.

He recalled that the U.S. Secretary of State had already visited Belgrade, where an agreement on U.S. participation in EXPO was signed, emphasizing that this is a clear confirmation of the shared commitment to the success of the event.

According to him, relations between Serbia and the United States have been further strengthened through cooperation on this project.

A special emphasis during the evening was placed on the economic effects of the EXPO exhibition. U.S. officials and company representatives assessed that they see the exhibition as a concrete opportunity to enhance cooperation with Serbia, especially in the fields of infrastructure, technology, and energy, with growing interest in projects that will accompany the implementation of EXPO 2027.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia and Minister of Finance, Sinisa Mali, stated that Serbia does not view EXPO merely as a major event, but as a development opportunity.

“For us, EXPO is a chance to show who we are and what we can do. We want everyone in Serbia to feel at home and to do something good for the whole world together,” Mali said, inviting international partners to come to Belgrade and be part of this story.

Sutanovac: Strong Interest from Companies to Participate

The Serbian Ambassador to the United States, Dragan Sutanovac, assessed that Serbia presented both itself and EXPO 2027 in the best possible way through the promotion in Washington.

"We brought together exactly the people who are most important for the success of EXPO, representatives of politics, diplomacy, and business. There is already great interest from companies to participate and present themselves in Belgrade," Sutanovac told Newsmax Balkans.

He emphasized that this is just the beginning of an intensive international promotion, which will continue through similar events around the world. As he added, EXPO represents a great opportunity not only for Serbia, but for the entire region.

"Our goal is to bring the whole world to Belgrade and present it in the best light. In a time of global divisions and conflicts, EXPO can be a platform for connection and cooperation," Sutanovac said, adding that the impressions of the guests are extremely positive.

A clear message was sent from the gathering in Washington that EXPO 2027 in Belgrade is already going beyond the scope of a single exhibition and is evolving into a global platform for connecting economies, investments, and ideas.
