Newsmax’s executive producer in Poland, Wojciech Surmac, spoke about how the portal’s first working day is going.
Surmac began by saying he is pleased to have joined the Newsmax family.
"For now, we have only positive feedback. All of this was made possible thanks to the work of the entire team here, our journalists, but also the very strong support of a serious team working in Belgrade that helped us. Once again, thank you very much for the help and the tremendous support we’ve received from you at the start", Wojciech emphasized.
Air Serbia will resume direct flights between Belgrade and Munich on 22 May 2026, after an 18-year hiatus. Flights will operate daily, ensuring continuity and efficiency in connecting these two cities. Tickets are on sale starting today.
A moral world order is possible if freedom of speech, national sovereignty, and the right to differing opinions are defended, said Christopher Ruddy, founder and owner of the American television network and news portal Newsmax, in an interview for Newsmax Polska.
"I hope that will come very soon, but for now, the portal is up and running. It seems to me that everything is excellent. We are doing everything in line with the ‘digital first’ principle, digital content comes first. Direct contact with the audience is important to us, and the next step is the main thing, real news for real people", he said.
"We don’t want to mislead our readers"
Speaking about the concept of the site, Wojciech said the essence is to write and speak the truth.
"Above all, we report the truth. That is the core value we will nurture. I make sure everything is done properly. These are not rumors, half-information, or unverified reports, these are, above all, truthful and normal news. It is a kind of relief for someone who wants to stay informed, but without tension", he said.
When it comes to style, he emphasized that the news is professional, without clickbait or exclamation marks.
"From the very headline, a person can understand what the story is about. We don’t want to mislead our readers or lure them into articles, we simply want to convey the truth so they are satisfied with what they read. Our goal is not just to get as many clicks as possible, but for readers to be satisfied at the end of the day with what they have read", he added.
He noted that people seem somewhat surprised by news that is not sensationalist.
"We are exactly where our readers are, on the internet"
Speaking about the team in Poland, he highlighted that it consists of journalists with extensive professional and life experience.
"In Poland, it’s a mix of journalists from different generations. We don’t want to reinvent the wheel, we decided to follow what you are already doing excellently and what has already been proven in the Newsmax Balkans newsroom and in the United States", the executive producer said.
When it comes to the target audience, he said he hopes it will be the entire Polish society.
"The average person, we hope our content will be prepared for all of them. We hope our audience will be the entire Polish society. We are exactly where our readers are, on the internet. That’s where we want to meet them, and then we move on to television", he concluded.
