Award for the production "The Blacksmith of Verses" by Newsmax Balkans TV
The production "The Blacksmith of Verses" by authors Sinisa Kostic and Bojan Kosanin, produced by Newsmax Balkans TV, won first place at the 13th International Documentary Film and Short Television Forms Festival, Grafest.
The jury, consisting of Dejan Dabic, Ivana Vanovac, Djordje Jevtic, and Igor Stanojevic, unanimously made this decision.
The film tells the story of blacksmith Djura Petkovic from the village of Jazince near Strpce, who, under difficult conditions for Serbs in Kosovo, creates authentic metal objects.
In addition, Djura writes poetry. It is his escape from the harsh and difficult reality of Kosovo and Metohija.
The second prize went to the film Starim carskim drumom (On the Old Imperial Road) by Ivan Miljkovic.
The third, special award was given to the cameraman from Euronews Serbia for the film Visoki Decani - Boundless Beauty.
A total of 25 films and short television forms were submitted to the festival, with 14 works competing in the program.
The organizer of Grafest is the Cultural Center Gracanica, and the festival's sponsors include the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, the Assembly of the City of Pristina, and the Municipality of Gracanica.
