Certificates Awarded to Participants of the Newsmax Balkans Academy
The participants of the Newsmax Balkans Academy program, designed by top media experts with decades of experience in academic work and professional education, were awarded diplomas. Out of the 17 participants, six secured jobs at Newsmax Balkans TV.
With the desire to become part of a new television channel followed by nearly 100 million people worldwide, which has already pushed the boundaries in Serbia's media scene in its early months, Newsmax Balkans trained a group of young people for work in the media.
After three months, they received certificates for successfully completing their training, and they were congratulated on their success by Newsmax Balkans TV director Aleksandra Krstic.
"Congratulations to all of you. Our television program is based on informative and documentary content, and six of you got jobs at Newsmax Balkans. We will expand our capacity, so if anyone sees themselves in journalism and wants to work, feel free to contact us. You are always welcome. The doors are open for you," Krstic said.
More than a third of the participants were given the opportunity to join our editorial team, which is an excellent result, noted editor-in-chief Milan Zoricic. He presented the certificates to the graduates and congratulated them on their dedication and the results they achieved.
Igor Sanjevic, the editor of the news program, addressed the young people by saying that their training was a long journey.
"Over these three months, we passed on our skills to you. Use our experience and learn from what we've shared with you. I hope you avoid our bad experiences and make use of the best ones," Sanjevic said.
Journalists and instructors Anita Lazic and Milan Popovic were involved in the education of future media professionals.
Lazic emphasized that the time spent in education was the best time well spent. She urged young people not to wait for opportunities to get a job, but to seize them.
"Fight for it, seek out opportunities. Suggest topics you want to report on, because it’s a shame not to take advantage of this program, which combined both academic and practical knowledge," Lazic said.
Popovic advised that those who completed the Newsmax Balkans Academy have opened doors among Telekom's channels.
"If you haven't become part of Newsmax Balkans and Arena, use this opportunity and become part of other channels within the Telekom company," Popovic said.
During the three-month training, the academy participants learned how to report objectively, how to perform in front of cameras with an emphasis on informative and documentary programming, and practical fieldwork, which included working with cameramen and editing.
