The ruling majority deputies in the Vojvodina Assembly approved the provincial budget for 2025 and 24 other agenda items without debate. Opposition deputies blew whistles and shouted "Resignations."
Outside the Vojvodina Assembly, students who are participating in faculty blockades in Novi Sad protested because, as they stated, none of the 25 items on the agenda concerned "the student struggle or the deaths of 15 people."
Provincial Prime Minister Maja Gojkovic took the floor at the assembly, but opposition deputies were loud, preventing her from presenting the provincial budget.
"I think there are no conditions to speak to those who don't want to hear and debate this, so I propose we move to the vote," she said, which was followed by Vojvodina Assembly President Balint Juhas conducting the vote.
The provincial budget was adopted with 79 votes.
The opposition in the Vojvodina parliament demanded the resignation of Provincial Prime Minister Maja Gojkovic, the resignation or dismissal of Vojvodina Assembly President Balint Juhas, and criminal responsibility for the now-former Vice President of the Vojvodina Assembly, Damir Zobenica.
