He mentioned that this transaction is a key business move for Telekom Srbija, confirming the implementation of the strategy that began in 2018 and showing how Serbia is fertile ground for foreign investors.
“At a time when other cable operators held almost 70 percent of the market, Telekom managed to shift the market balance. With this move, the company now controls over 60 percent of the market, creating an entirely new ecosystem in the telecommunications sector,” said Lucic for Euronews Serbia.
The last seven years have been marked by intense competition between two major regional players - Telekom Srbija and United Group.
However, with United Group exiting the Western Balkan market and focusing on European markets, Telekom Srbija has become the dominant force in the region. While new players, such as Etisalat, have emerged, it is clear that this market shift has brought a new era to the telecommunications sector in the region, added the CEO of Telekom Srbija.
