Vucic After Meeting with Dodik: Every Dialogue Is Better Than Displays of Power and Force
Speaking about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that every dialogue is better than displays of power and force, emphasizing that issues should be resolved through discussion and negotiation.
He reiterated that Serbia is committed to peace and will work to encourage dialogue.
Following his meeting with the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik, Vucic noted how visibly concerned Dodik was, saying that when one hears about preparations for war, it is impossible not to be worried.
"Some are trying to use the European Union as a Trojan horse to destroy the Republic of Srpska. That is why this color revolution is being carried out, to weaken Serbia and prevent it from helping our brothers across the Drina. Serbia knows what is written in the Dayton Agreement, and we are not afraid of its spirit. When someone says something is ‘not in the spirit of the agreement,’ I can only ask them, where exactly is that written?", Vucic stated.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a first-instance verdict against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, sentencing him to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity for "disrespecting the decisions" of the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced that during the session of the National Security Council, he presented seven points and conclusions, which were unanimously accepted.
He reiterated that Serbia stands for peace and will continue to work on fostering dialogue and stability.
Dodik once again called on the Bosniaks to engage in dialogue about BiH’s future, affirming that the Republic of Srpska supports BiH, but only in accordance with the Dayton Peace Agreement. However, he claimed that Bosniak leaders reject this and instead seek a BiH that would be dominant over the Republic of Srpska.
Dodik also informed Vucic that Bosniak politicians in Sarajevo are pushing for armed conflict in BiH.
President Vucic announced that he will have a conversation tomorrow at 12 PM with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss various topics related to bilateral relations, including gas supplies, Serbia’s oil industry, and political cooperation.
