White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt has denied claims that Susan Wiles, Chief of Staff to U.S. President Donald Trump, prohibited Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic from attending an event at Mar-a-Lago.
Vucic abruptly ended his visit to the United States and returned to Belgrade after suffering what doctors later described as a sudden spike in blood pressure and chest pain.
“The Chief of Staff did not ‘block’ him from attending any event at Mar-a-Lago. That is fake news,” Leavitt told Pavlovic Today.
Vucic had been in Florida, where he was expected to meet with Trump. Prior to that, he met with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and publicly expressed hope for reaching an economic agreement with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, in the context of Trump’s tariffs.
