At the same time, the Office stated, "this way, the arsonist Kurti wants to cause a new crisis here and send a message to the Serbs that there is neither peace nor justice for them".

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said the arrest of Popovic shows that Aljbin Kurti has completely lost his mind and wants to cause incidents and conflicts in the Western Balkans, as well as that Belgrade will react strongly.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric stated that Serbia demands the immediate release of Popovic from the Pristina casemate and warns the international community to be aware of the seriousness and danger of such actions by Pristina’s officials.
