Djuric: Russia and Ukraine Are Talking About Peace, but in Serbia Someone Thinks They Have the Right to Refuse Dialogue
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric told Newsmax Balkans that the unrest in Serbia has been imposed on us as a people and a society, and that we must, with all our strength, reject the idea of civil conflict in our country as if it were a foreign body.
He believes that President Aleksandar Vucic’s call to establish dialogue with the protesters is an expression of seriousness, responsibility, and a sincere desire to find a way out of the current situation.
"Something that threatens not only civil peace—since we have seen very violent attacks on political party offices, the police, and street clashes—but also undermines our economy. We must find a way out and stop this. That is why the call for dialogue is a genuine expression of concern for Serbia’s future, a desire to normalize the situation and relations," Djuric said.

U.S. President’s Special Envoy for Special Missions Richard Grenell stated that the Donald Trump administration will approach the issue of Kosovo and Metohija step by step.
He added that it is completely incomprehensible that someone could, without taking even a few hours to think about it, reject the fundamental instrument of democracy—dialogue.
"Russia and Ukraine, between whom a sea of blood has been spilled in recent years, are sitting at the table and talking, yet someone in Serbia thinks they have the right to say, 'No, we won’t talk to representatives of the other side.' People, we are one and the same nation, we must act seriously and responsibly. This call for dialogue and reducing tensions is an opportunity we should embrace and not miss," the minister emphasized.

When asked whether the Serbian List (Srpska lista) will withstand the pressure it is facing ahead of the local elections in October in Kosovo and Metohija, the minister said this is not the end of the troubles for the Serbian List and the Serbian people in Kosovo.
"I am convinced that Kurti will, before the elections and even on the election day itself, try to prevent Serbs from voting, from exercising their right to regain control of institutions in northern Kosovo and Metohija," Djuric stated.
