The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia responded to remarks by UN rapporteur Francesca Albanese, who criticized the authorities over cooperation with Israel, stressing that Serbia conducts an independent and sovereign foreign policy based on its own interests and the principles of international.

The statement notes that the Ministry considers Albanese’s remarks to be "unbalanced and activist in nature, and as such inappropriate for the office she holds".
"They do not reflect Serbia’s actual position, nor do they contribute to a constructive international dialogue. It is particularly concerning when such assessments are intertwined with her comments that directly encroach upon Serbia’s internal political matters. This is not the role of any international rapporteur and constitutes unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of our country", the Ministry emphasized.
