Vucic: We will present new Missiles around Vidovdan, our friends are both Israel and the Arabs
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated, in response to criticism from certain media outlets claiming that "Serbia is Israel’s arms factory", that both Israelis and Arabs are Serbia’s friends and that he would not comment further on such claims.
He also announced that new missiles of the Serbian Armed Forces will be presented around Vidovdan.
Vucic added that Serbia has excellent cooperation with Israel.
"They sell weapons to us, and we sell weapons to them, and that will continue. We are building a digital army and will have the most modern military, because the essence lies in what you can see. You can see how a single ‘Starlink’ can create a problem, or fail to create one, at the level of Ukraine. What we are going to do will be very different from anything you have seen so far", Vucic said while visiting the Djordjevic family farm in the village of Mramorac near Smederevska Palanka, responding to journalists questions.
The president also recalled that the Serbian Armed Forces had purchased "Hermes" and "SkyStriker" systems, along with many other items that have not yet been shown to the public.
Serbian Patriarch Porfirije has sent a letter to Pope Leo XIV, Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump, as well as other important European and global leaders, calling on them to prevent the implementation of the so-called law on foreigners imposed by Pristina.
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric welcomed the release of Israeli-Serbian national Alon Ohel, who had been held captive by Hamas for more than two years.
"You have seen some things; others you have not", Vucic said.
Asked whether these would be displayed at a military parade, he replied that there would be no military parade, but that some form of demonstration might be organized.
He added that aircraft operated by the Serbian Armed Forces can reach an altitude of 12 kilometers in just under two and a half minutes.
"I asked them to release the missile footage"
The President of Serbia announced that the new missiles of the Serbian Armed Forces will be presented this year around Vidovdan.
Responding to a journalist’s question about whether he would send photographs or an additional letter to Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, regarding the missiles acquired by the Serbian Armed Forces - after Plenkovic had already raised the issue with the NATO alliance, Vucic said that footage could be released, but that the missiles would certainly be presented around Vidovdan.
"I told our people to release the footage, and I believe they have done so for them to see. We currently have many exercises, both with those from NATO and with others, but once that is finished, I believe sometime around Vidovdan we will present them. You know, the military and the security defense system are not toys when you are anticipating what may happen in the world and in the region. It is far too serious and responsible a matter. There has not been a single night in the past 14 years - not one, literally speaking - that I have gone to bed without thinking about the safety and security of our homeland and our army. Not a single night. Whatever the circumstances were, COVID, anything else, I have always thought about it", Vucic stated.
