“I expressed gratitude to President Xi Jinping for the warm welcome, exceptional hospitality, sincere friendship, and continuous support that China provides to our people and our country. Serbia and China are ironclad friends. We see China as a sincere and reliable partner, and President Xi stood by us during our most difficult times — economically, in healthcare, and politically. Serbia can never forget that, and it never will,” Vucic wrote on Instagram.

He also emphasized that he thanked Xi for the fact that, thanks to Xi's initiatives and the Free Trade Agreement, trade exchange between Serbia and China has never been greater.

“I also informed him about the progress of infrastructure projects we are working on with Chinese partners, including the fact that the international Belgrade–Budapest railway will be open for traffic in 15 days. I particularly thanked him for all the investments made by Chinese companies in Serbia, for the major investments already realized, and I extended an invitation for new future investments,” added the Serbian president.

He stated that Serbia, together with its Chinese partners, has completed the section of the international Belgrade–Budapest railway on Serbian territory, which will be opened to traffic in 15 days.

Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that China, sharing ironclad friendship, supports Serbia's efforts to maintain national unity, interests, and social stability and expressed a desire to continue improving relations.

He said the world is turbulent and changing, making it even more important to preserve unity and cooperation between the two countries and to adopt a correct historical perspective and understanding of the causes and outcomes of war.

He recalled that the Chinese people fought for years and achieved one of the most significant victories in war, and emphasized that the Serbian people, among all the peoples of Yugoslavia, also fought persistently against foreign aggression and moved toward independence.
