The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, appeared as a guest on the American television network Newsmax, where he spoke about the most important issues for Serbia and international cooperation, primarily with the United States.
"Serbia is a country where the U.S. president enjoys a lot of popularity – there is no country that comes close to that. Of course, we cannot agree with absolutely everything he says, but I want to convey the atmosphere in our country and why the news of Charlie Kirk’s assassination resonated so strongly," Aleksandar Vucic told Newsmax.

AutorHe emphasized that his meeting with Marco Rubio went very well.
"As for our meeting with Marco Rubio, it was excellent – I am very pleased with it. Both of us announced the start of our strategic dialogue, which will be very important for my country. We discussed various issues, including energy. We would like to see more U.S. investors in Serbia, and we are working on those projects. The value of these projects is about 10 billion, which is not a small sum. Political issues will not be easy, but it is very important for Serbia to remain committed to continuing negotiations and making greater progress in the future," he added.
President Vucic noted that he was very satisfied after the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump in Alaska.
"At that time, I thought we were nearing the end of the war in Ukraine, and I still think so – that we are at least somewhat closer to the end. After that, Trump was fiercely attacked by the media here – leftist media and like-minded politicians immediately began attacking him, portraying him as weak. But no, he looked like the best president in the world. True strength lies in giving us peace, and that was President Trump’s true intention," Vucic said.
Vucic remarked that, listening to all the speeches at the UN General Assembly, he noticed that people had not come to listen to others or to make compromises, but rather to "dig into their trenches and say something negative about another country."
"I didn’t leave the room when Benjamin Netanyahu entered, because I wanted to hear what he had to say, to listen to those I don’t agree with," Vucic said.
The president stated that all the speakers were addressing their own audiences in line with their PR strategies.
"They were focused on how to generate more likes on social media; there were no strategic issues," Vucic said.
In his conversation with our reporter, Ognjen Medic, Vucic pointed out that in recent days, Jimmy Kimmel had been mentioned more often than U.S. President Donald Trump, even after the assassination attempt on him.
He added that Trump had accomplished the greatest thing for the planet by bringing Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table.
"I will listen both to those I agree with and those I don’t. That is why I have offered dialogue and debate to many in Serbia. We must bring dialogue and conversation back into the world. Here, everyone came to dig their trenches deeper and to land as many blows as possible on the other side. Next year will be marked by unprecedented conflict," Vucic told our television channel.
He emphasized that the most important thing is to preserve peace and stability and ensure that the country continues to move forward economically.
