University of Belgrade Highly Ranked in 18 out of 57 Scientific Fields on the Shanghai List
The University of Belgrade has been rated highly this year in 18 out of a total of 57 scientific fields on the Shanghai List, according to the classification applied in this study based on indicators related to the scientific work of faculty members, researchers, and associates.
Within the field of natural and mathematical sciences, the University of Belgrade is ranked in mathematics, where it is placed between 151st and 400th in the world; in physics, between 301st and 400th; and in chemistry, where it is also ranked between 301st and 400th globally, the University of Belgrade announced.
As stated, within the field of technical sciences, the University of Belgrade is ranked in the fields of energy (201st–300th place worldwide), water resources engineering (201st–300th), food science and food technology (101st–150th), chemical engineering (201st–300th), metallurgical engineering (76th–100th), and artificial intelligence (301st–400th).
Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated that Serbia is unequivocally and firmly committed to joining the EU, which includes accepting the European Union’s foreign and security policy.
Former Minister of Construction Goran Vesic was questioned at the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime in connection with a financial investigation related to the reconstruction of the Railway Station building, where 16 people were killed and one was injured after the collapse of a canopy.
Within the field of medical sciences, the University of Belgrade is ranked in clinical medicine (301st–400th), public health (201st–300th), dentistry (201st–300th), and pharmacy (201st–300th).
In the area of social sciences, the University of Belgrade is ranked in education (401st–500th) and psychology (301st–400th).
The statement notes that this year’s ranking methodology is again based both on the number of scientific papers published in journals classified in the top quartile according to the bibliometric impact factor for a given field on reference lists, and on the evaluation of the academic influence of teaching and research staff.
In August, the University of Belgrade ranked among the top 500 higher education institutions worldwide on the 2025 Shanghai List. The University thus retained last year’s position in the group between 401st and 500th place.

Probni završni ispit za učenike osmog razreda u školama u Srbiji nastavlja se i danas, kada će đaci rešavati dva testa, jedan iz srpskog, odnosno maternjeg jezika i jedan test iz jednog predmeta po izboru.
