The project concerns extraction at the Velebit oil field near Kanjiza.

The decision states that the Environmental Impact Assessment Study indicates that the proposed project does not endanger environmental factors and does not pose a threat to the environment.

It is also stated that the project holder is obliged to begin implementation, meaning construction and execution of the project, within two years of receiving this approval; otherwise, the existing environmental impact study must be updated.

The explanation highlights that the project holder, NIS, submitted a request on September 22nd  this year for approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment Study for examining the possibility of applying an additional extraction method aimed at increasing oil production at the Velebit oil field.
