Lucic: 5G Network in Serbia in the First Week of December
The 5G network in Serbia will launch in the first week of December, bringing faster internet and supporting the development of artificial intelligence, announced Vladimir Lucic, CEO of Telekom Serbia
"This is very important for users, who will experience faster internet, but also for the entire Serbian industry and the development of AI-based services. Startups will be able to develop new ideas, and companies will be able to improve their workflows and services", Lucic said.
The Serbian national operator has also become a leader in 5G network development across the entire Western Balkans region, through an exclusive strategic partnership with the European Investment Bank and, as the only operator in all of Europe, with the U.S. Export-Import Bank.

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated that he has information indicating that OFAC could make a positive decision regarding granting a license to the Serbian Oil Industry (NIS) to continue the company’s operations, but that the decision of the U.S. State Department is still pending.
At the beginning of October, Telekom Serbia CEO Vladimir Lucic said that the basic infrastructure had been installed, allowing users in major cities to see 5G on their phones shortly after the license is granted.
"In the first two years, we will cover a significant part of Serbia with the 5G network. The goal is for the entire country to be covered by the end of 2027. The focus is on introducing certain services from the gaming sphere, virtual ways of watching matches, and some services that are characteristic only of 5G", said Vladimir Lucic.
