Vucic: Convincing victory for SNS in local elections
President of Serbia and member of the Presidency of the Serbian Progressive Party, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that the SNS achieved a convincing victory in local elections in Negotin, Mionica, and Secanj, thanked the citizens, and emphasized that the people understood fighting for Serbia’s interests.
Vucic told TV Pink that he had results from all 72 polling stations in Negotin, where turnout was high - nearly 18,000 people voted, and that the list "The Best for Negotin - SNS" received 11,534 votes, or 69.3 percent, while the “blockers” won 26.7 percent.
"In mandates, that's 33 to 12," said the former SNS leader.
According to data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS), 204,278 foreigners visited Serbia in October, and by country of origin, the most numerous were visitors from China, with 20,566 arrivals.
In Secanj, Vucic said, where SNS did not run with coalition partners, it won 60.9 percent of the vote, the SPS 4.4 percent, a citizens' group 1.9 percent, the "blockers" 30.4 percent, and the SRS 1.9 percent.
"If you add it all up, even though we weren’t satisfied with how we worked in Secanj, I expected a difference," Vucic said.
Regarding Mionica, he said that based on 37 of 38 processed polling stations, SNS won 52.6 percent, Rasim Ljajic's SDP 3.6 percent, the "blockers" list 38.5 percent, Dragan Djilas's party 1.4 percent, and Mirko Jovic's list 1.2 percent.
