Goran Rosic, one of the suspects in the "canopy" case, arrested in Croatia
Goran Rosic, who had been on the run as one of the suspects in the investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime into financial flows related to the modernization project of the Hungarian–Serbian railway, has been arrested in Croatia.
They added that extradition proceedings have been initiated against him, he Prosecutor’s Office told Newsmax Balkans.
Aside from Rosic, all other suspects have already been questioned.
Rosic is the responsible person of the company TECO LLC, and according to earlier statements from the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, he effectively manages the companies Pro+Service Centre, Bambino Shoes, and Zevas.
Request for extradition
The Ministry of Justice specified that, following his detention, Rosic was placed in extradition custody by a decision of the County Court in Slavonski Brod.
"One of the suspects in the case concerning the financing of the railway reconstruction project Novi Sad - Subotica, Goran Rosić, was arrested on November 1 of this year in Croatia on the basis of a Serbian warrant. The Ministry of Justice of Serbia, immediately upon receiving official notification of the suspect’s detention, submitted on November 12, 2025, a request to the competent authorities of the Republic of Croatia for the extradition of Goran Rosić, in accordance with the bilateral extradition agreement", the Ministry stated.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated that elections will be held either in May or December next year, but that it is more realistic for them to take place at the end of November or in December.
On the order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime, on August 1 several suspects were arrested in the financial investigation related to the collapse of the canopy.
As the Prosecutor’s Office announced at the time, six individuals were arrested on suspicion of committing corruption-related criminal offenses, and their arrests were the result of the work of the Special Task Force within the investigation into the canopy collapse.
