He also said that he has information that representatives of Gazprom are in talks about selling their stake in NIS with several parties, including Hungary’s MOL, and that if no agreement is reached, the state will take over the Russian share.
Speaking after awarding employment contracts to top graduates of medical faculties and secondary medical schools, Vucic said there would be no problems with gas supply until March 31.

The Serbian president said he has information that Gazprom representatives are negotiating the sale of their stake in NIS with several parties, including the Hungarian national company MOL, and that the Serbian leadership has no objection to this, as Hungarians are Serbia’s friends. However, he added that if no solution is found by January 15, the outcome will be as he had previously announced.

According to the latest data from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, the average net salary in Serbia in September amounted to 109,147 dinars (around €930). The median net wage for September 2025 stood at 85,267 dinars, meaning that 50 percent of employees earned up to that amount.
"The Hungarians are our friends, and that’s all fine. We just need to conclude this as soon as possible, by January 15. Because you also have to bear in mind that even if everything is going perfectly for us and we have no issues with, for example, secondary sanctions – and we do have them and will continue to have them – and even if we have no problems with barges, trains, and trucks to import, say, diesel – we simply cannot import 6,000 tons a day, which is our daily consumption. So I just want to tell you that this is an impossible mission," Vučić said in response to a question about whether he has information about negotiations between Hungary’s MOL and Gazprom.
He added that if no solution is found, the issue surrounding NIS will be resolved as he had previously stated – by the state taking over NIS and paying the Russians for their stake.
"That date (January 15) is approaching as well. I hope solutions will be found before then; if not, what can we do," Vucic said.
