Eight Years Since the Murder of Oliver Ivanovic: Memorial Service Held at the Church of Saint Sava
A memorial service marking eight years since the murder of Oliver Ivanovic, leader of the Civic Initiative Serbia, Democracy and Justice, was held at the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade.
The service was attended by Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabic and Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric.
Clergy first held the memorial service inside the church, after which close members of Ivanovic’s family, Speaker Ana Brnabic, and Foreign Minister Marko Djuric paid their respects by lighting candles, thus marking eight years since the murder of Oliver Ivanovic in Kosovska Mitrovica.
In addition to Ivanovic’s widow Milena Popovic, his son, relatives, and friends, those in attendance also included Petar Petkovic, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, and Milan Antonijevic, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality.

Oliver Ivanovic was killed by six shots to the back in the early morning hours of January 16, 2018, in front of the headquarters of his party in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
He was buried on January 18 in the Alley of Distinguished Citizens at the New Cemetery in Belgrade.
