Serbia Signs Agreement in Davos to Purchase 25 Flying Taxis

Under the Agreement, Serbia has selected Archer as its preferred eVTOL partner and has the option to purchase an initial fleet of Midnight aircraft.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Archer Aviation founder and Chief Executive Officer Adam Goldstein.

President Vucic emphasized the importance of technological cooperation with one of the world’s best and strongest companies.

"I am extremely happy that we had the opportunity to sign an agreement with Archer Aviation. For us, it is important to cooperate technologically with one of the best and most powerful companies in the world, to bring the most modern, cutting-edge American technology to Serbia, and to be long-term partners. I am very pleased that our partners envision this kind of relationship for decades, even centuries to come. I hope that the citizens of Serbia will be proud of their country. We still have a great deal of work ahead of us and more than a year of preparations, but I believe that the people of Serbia will be more than satisfied with everything we will be able to present through our partnership at EXPO," Vucic said.

Archer Aviation founder and CEO Adam Goldstein described the agreement as an important day for the company.

"We are immensely pleased to be working with Serbia to bring new technologies. It is important to find countries and partners with strong prospects and a vision of a positive future that delivers meaningful change. This will be a multi-decade, and we hope multicentric, partnership that we are building to advance the future of travel and aviation," Goldstein said.

Minister Mali said that Serbia is taking another step toward the future.

"With this, Archer has formally become Serbia’s selected partner for air taxis and the official air taxi partner for EXPO 2027, which will be held in Belgrade from May to August 2027," Mali said in Davos.

He stressed that he is proud that Serbia is the first country in the region to introduce next-generation transportation, which will showcase the benefits of advanced air mobility to a global audience attending the event.

"This is great news for Serbia, which in 2027 will show the entire world its incredible transformation – from a country on the brink of bankruptcy to a country with an investment-grade credit rating, oriented toward technology, digitalization, and further progress," Mali concluded.
