The leading portal in the "News and Media" category is KRIK, while the list of the top five news websites also includes Juzne vesti, Biznis, and Masina.

Marijana Pecic, Editor-in-Chief of the digital edition of PC Press, emphasized that competition in the "News and Media" category was intense and that the evaluation criteria were the most stringent.

"The essence of this category is credibility and high-quality content, that is not sensationalist. I believe this selection is of very high quality and reflects the true values that all journalists should uphold", she stated.

In its presentation to PC Press readers, Newsmax Balkans was described as an informative portal and media platform that covers political, economic, and social developments in Serbia and the wider region. The website publishes daily news, analyses, and interviews, with a particular focus on current political issues and international relations. Newsmax Balkans combines digital and television content, follows economic trends and regional processes, and tailors its content to a broad audience. It also features commentary from relevant analysts. The portal has a strong informational and real-time reporting role and is intended for readers, seeking continuous coverage of daily events.

Vesna Carknajev, Director of PC Press, noted that one of the goals of the Top 50 awards is to raise standards each year in terms of content quality and the use of new technologies.

"The number of followers is important, but it is not decisive", Carknajev said.

The awards ceremony was originally scheduled to take place in the exceptional setting of the National Museum in Belgrade. However, due to a technical malfunction that led to the museum’s temporary closure, the winners were announced via live stream.

The jury consisted of Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Kavcic, scientist, inventor, and founder of the Alek Kavcic Foundation; Arsenije Ivanovic, Head of Creative & Campaigns at Shoppster; and influencer Aleksa Simic, better known as “halomilice,” along with members of the PC Press editorial team.
