Manja Grcic Unanimously Elected as New Director General of RTS

Manja Grcic, Director of the Tanjug news agency and co-owner of K1 Television and the communications agency Majo Public, has been elected as the new Director General of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), Branislav Klanscek, a member of the RTS Managing Board, confirmed to the Newsmax Balkans portal.
Tanjug reported earlier, approximately thirty minutes before the start of the RTS Managing Board session, that Grcic had been appointed as the new Director General of RTS.
To confirm this information, Newsmax Balkans contacted Branislav Klanscek, President of the RTS Managing Board.
The Committee for Culture and Information of the National Assembly of Serbia has adopted a decision to initiate the procedure for proposing candidates for the selection of members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media (REM).
An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale was recorded on Wednesday evening in the Prizren region, with the epicenter located approximately 20 kilometers southeast of the city. Residents of Vranje and Skopje reported strong ground shaking.
"The session is scheduled for 3 p.m.", Klanscek briefly stated earlier to the Newsmax Balkans portal.
It should be recalled that the term of office of RTS Director General Dragan Bujosevic expired on February 3, and the RTS Managing Board appointed him acting Director General for an additional six months the day before.
The RTS Managing Board had previously announced that a decision regarding the public competition for the position of Director General would be made no later than March 12.
Six candidates met the requirements of the competition: Dejan Stankovic, Sladjana Ivancevic, Milos Tanaskovic, Manja Grcic, Stanislav Veljkovic, and Dragoljub Stankic.
