Brnabic: We will talk with Vucic about him being the SNS candidate for Prime Minister
Speaker of Parliament Ana Brnabic said that early parliamentary elections will be held when the only competent authority, the President of the Republic, decides, and that he is currently dealing with very important issues.
She also stated that the SNS will talk with Aleksandar Vucic about him being their candidate for Prime Minister.
Who will the President of Serbia invite for talks, which topics will be on the table, how will tensions in society be reduced, and what dates are being considered for holding parliamentary elections? The Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, emphasized that President Aleksandar Vucic will invite everyone to dialogue.
"I am convinced that many will not respond, because they have refused to do so before and have not participated. When we talk about a lack of dialogue, it is not that Aleksandar Vucic does not want dialogue, but rather those who advocate it are the ones refusing it," Brnabic told RTS.
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated that Serbs want to turn a new page in relations with the United States and that Serbia is striving to seize every opportunity to strengthen cooperation with Washington.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team qualified for the World Cup after defeating Italy in Zenica in the playoff final following a penalty shootout, with an overall score of 5–2 (1–1).
The Speaker stressed that discussions are needed about early parliamentary elections, which everyone has been calling for, and that they will take place when they are called by the only institution competent to do so.
She believes that the only reason the President has not yet called elections is Serbia’s foreign policy direction and the fact that the world is facing a crisis greater than the global economic crisis and COVID-19, a crisis unprecedented in our time.
"There will be shortages of fuel and food because there is no artificial fertilizer, and Serbia, thanks to Aleksandar Vucic, is more prepared than many other more developed countries," Brnabic said.
The Vice President of the SNS Main Board said that they will talk with Vucic about him becoming the party’s candidate for Prime Minister. She added that Vladan Djokic does not want to "go head-to-head with the strongest among them."
She expects that the talks will begin as early as Friday and that SNS members will present their opinions.
Commenting on the recently held local elections, Brnabic said that the turnout of such a large number of people shows that they have confidence in the electoral process in Serbia.
