Italy’s footballers will miss the World Cup for the third consecutive time, after 2018 and 2022.

Bosnia and Herzegovina did not sleep last night, as celebrations of the national team’s qualification for this year’s World Cup spilled from the pitch of Celik Stadium in Zenica onto the streets of other cities, with the epicenter in Sarajevo.

Asked whether Expo 2027 is important for Serbia’s path toward EU integration, Mali emphasized that Serbia is committed to the European path.

"We are accelerating reforms in that direction and, as promised, by the end of 2026 we will formally adopt all legislative changes to be fully aligned with EU legislation. When and whether we will become a full member depends on a political decision, but we will do everything on our part to fulfill our obligations and put the ball in someone else’s court", he said.

The "Dragons" journey to the capital of the former Yugoslav republic was followed by columns of vehicles and thousands of people, culminating when Edin Dzeko and the other heroes of the elimination of once-mighty, now declining Italy arrived at the site of the central celebration.

Fans greeted coach Sergej Barbarez and each of the penalty shootout heroes with songs and ovations as they appeared on the balcony.

Their emotional speeches only fueled the passion and pride, as the "small" Balkan country qualified for a major football tournament for only the second time in its history.

Back in 2014, they participated in the World Cup in Brazil, and before and after that they had never reached a World Cup or European Championship.

The match in Zenica was attended from the stands by Serbia’s top tennis player Novak Djoković, who received ovations.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin was also present at the match in Zenica.

The World Cup will be held from June 11th to July 19th this year in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
