Session of the National Security Council: The Ruling Against Dodik is the Greatest Crisis Since the End of the War
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, announced that during the session of the National Security Council, he presented seven points and conclusions, which were unanimously accepted.
"The first is the condemnation of the ruling against Dodik, followed by a call for calm in reactions, as this is very important given the moment we are in. There is also a call for respect for the Dayton Agreement, a call for unity and solidarity of our entire people and all political parties in both the Republic of Srpska and the Republic of Serbia," said the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivica Dacic, after the session.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a first-instance verdict against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, sentencing him to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity for "disrespecting the decisions" of the High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt.
As he added, great concern was expressed at the session regarding the situation in the Republic of Srpska after the ruling against Dodik.
"This is certainly the greatest crisis since the end of the war. It is the result of a general attack from Sarajevo and some Western powers on the Republic of Srpska and the basic principles of the Dayton Agreement, with the desire for the disappearance of the Republic of Srpska and, of course, which is aimed not only at the interests of the Republic of Srpska but also Serbia," emphasized Dacic, adding that Vucic will travel to Banja Luka tonight.
He also mentioned that, following the ruling against Dodik, Serbia is in an extremely difficult situation, as are the Republic of Srpska and the Serbian people as a whole.
The session was attended by the Prime Minister in resignation Milos Vucevic, Minister of Justice Maja Popovic, Minister of Defense Bratislav Gasic, Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric, Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic, Chief of the General Staff Milan Mojsilovic, Speaker of the Assembly Ana Brnabic, and Director of the BIA Vladimir Orlic.
