Vucic Met with Putin in Moscow, Attended Formal Dinner
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic attended a formal dinner hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin to mark the celebration of May 9 and the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.
The European Union (EU) strongly regrets the presence of Serbian leadership in Moscow and their participation in the celebration of the victory in World War II, which Russia uses for propaganda purposes, stated European Commission spokesperson Guillaume Mercier.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic presented Patriarch Kirill with the Order of the Republic of Serbia, First Class on a grand collar, in Moscow, for his outstanding contributions to the development and strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation.
Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold bilateral talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on May 9.
Billboards welcoming Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic were set up in Moscow, where he arrived yesterday to attend the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism.
"Welcome, Your Excellency, President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vucic!" read the billboards.

The messages were written in both Serbian and Russian. Similar welcome billboards were also set up in Moscow for other global officials attending the Victory Day commemoration. Vucic stated that he believes there will be a reaction from the European Union (EU) due to his visit to Moscow, but that it is to be expected.
