Prime Minister of Serbia Attends Inauguration of Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican
The Prime Minister of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Djuro Macut, attended the inaugural Mass of Pope Leo XIV at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, the Government of Serbia announced.
The Archbishop of Belgrade and Cardinal Ladislav Nemet stated that the election of the new Pope Leo XIV went extremely quickly and that everyone was prepared to choose a man who would best suit the needs of the Catholic Church.
Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, who has been elected as the new pope under the name Leo XIV, visited Belgrade last year, where he participated in the plenary assembly of the Council of European Bishops' Conferences and met with Serbian Patriarch Porfirije.
