The Prime Minister of Serbia, Prof. Dr. Djuro Macut, attended the inaugural Mass of Pope Leo XIV at St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican, the Government of Serbia announced.

Pope Leo XIV led the inaugural Mass, thereby officially beginning his service as the 267th head of the Roman Catholic Church.
The Archbishop of Belgrade and Cardinal Ladislav Nemet stated that the election of the new Pope Leo XIV went extremely quickly and that everyone was prepared to choose a man who would best suit the needs of the Catholic Church.
