Two Members of the Serbian Armed Forces Receive U.S. Army Decorations
The U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires in Serbia, Alexander Titolo, stated during the presentation of U.S. Army decorations to two members of the Serbian Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces for their achievements in joint service, that awarding to foreign soldiers is a rare distinction.
Titolo emphasized that the awards presented to Colonel Miroslav Zecevic and Lieutenant Colonel Dan Mavrak reflect the depth of the ties between the United States and the Serbian Armed Forces.
"With this event, we continue the tradition established in April of last year, when we awarded three Legion of Merit medals for exceptional achievements to three outstanding participants in courses at U.S. military schools. Today, we are presenting two more honors: the Legion of Merit for exceptional achievement to Colonel Miroslav Zecevic and the Army Commendation Medal for dedicated service to Lieutenant Colonel Dan Mavrak," Titolo stated.

Colonel Miroslav Zecevic, recipient of the Legion of Merit, said that receiving the award is a great honor for him, but also an encouragement to continue working with his team.
"The Directorate for Development and Equipment is engaged in the long-term planning and development of the Serbian Armed Forces' capabilities. This recognition is a motivation to continue moving in that direction," said Zecevic.
