Vucic: I Am Proud That I Went to Potocari in 2015 and Showed Respect for the Victims
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated that he is proud to have personally attended the commemoration of the Srebrenica massacre ten years ago, emphasizing that he showed respect for the victims despite all the pressure and attacks he faced at the time.
In response to a question about the fact that no one was held accountable for the attack on him in Potocari in 2015 and that attacks on him continue, Vucic said that this was logical because those attacks come from regions bothered by a Serbia that is growing, progressing, refusing to be humiliated, and refusing to kneel before everyone and apologize for everything.
Speaking to TV Pink, Vucic expressed his sincerest condolences to the families of those killed in Srebrenica and once again strongly condemned the crime.
The Basic Court in Pristina has issued arrest warrants for 20 Serbs for alleged war crimes. They are suspected of killing 106 Albanian civilians and mistreating another 300 in Djakovica. The Ministry of Justice of Serbia has strongly condemned this decision.
The Prosecution in Pristina has filed an indictment before the Basic Court against five Serbs, on suspicion that they allegedly committed war crimes against the civilian population in the Gnjilan region during the conflict in Kosovo and Metohija.
"Once again, I extend my sincerest condolences to the families of the victims, and this attitude of strong condemnation will never change. That is what matters. That’s where we Serbs differ from others who have never said such things about Serbian victims and have never expressed condolences to the families of Serbian victims in such a way," Vucic said.
He pointed out that his most difficult battle was a little over a year ago at the United Nations (UN), during the vote on the Srebrenica resolution, describing it as a round-the-clock struggle.
"I’m proud of that fight and the entire team's efforts. It seems to me that I turned gray the most during that period. Those were difficult days in New York and elsewhere. We fought so hard that, in the end, I was honored when Zlatko Lagumdzija and Elmedin Konakovic said it was incredible what Serbia did and how Serbia fought. We had only one flag in front of us, our red-blue-white tricolor that we had to protect and fight for — and for our people. And we succeeded," Vucic emphasized.
He reminded that during the vote, Serbia managed to secure a clear majority against the resolution's text, as many realized it was a case of political manipulation.

STAV DANA
