Petkovic stated that the talks lasted more than seven hours and that he had a tete-a-tete meeting with EU representative Peter Sorensen, and that the Belgrade delegation then had a bilateral meeting with Sorensen's team, which was followed by direct talks between Belgrade and Pristina.
He said that during the round of dialogue with the Pristina delegation, the Belgrade delegation insisted that the Union of Serbian Municipalities (USO) must be formed immediately and urgently, and pointed out that it represents a framework for the survival of the Serbs.
Petkovic said that Pristina, however, is not interested in the USO and that the Pristina negotiator Besnik Bisljimi did not want to answer the question of whether he accepts the European draft status of the USO.
EU Special Envoy for the Belgrade–Pristina Dialogue Peter Sorensen said that he carefully listened to his counterparts in Belgrade, stressing that normalization of relations is important for the people on the ground.
U.S. President’s Special Envoy for Special Missions Richard Grenell stated that the Donald Trump administration will approach the issue of Kosovo and Metohija step by step.
