Petkovic stated that the talks lasted more than seven hours and that he had a tete-a-tete meeting with EU representative Peter Sorensen, and that the Belgrade delegation then had a bilateral meeting with Sorensen's team, which was followed by direct talks between Belgrade and Pristina.

He said that during the round of dialogue with the Pristina delegation, the Belgrade delegation insisted that the Union of Serbian Municipalities (USO) must be formed immediately and urgently, and pointed out that it represents a framework for the survival of the Serbs.

Petkovic said that Pristina, however, is not interested in the USO and that the Pristina negotiator Besnik Bisljimi did not want to answer the question of whether he accepts the European draft status of the USO.

He stated that at the meetings he also spoke about the suffering of the Serbian people, about the attacks on Serbian churches, temples, and graves.

The new round of dialogue in Brussels comes two days before the start of the election campaign for local elections in Kosovo.

The last round of dialogue was held on June 10 in Brussels.
