Brnabic: Serbia’s EU Path and Ties With Russia Got More Focus in Bundestag Than the Protests
The President of the National Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, stated after participating in the 9th Session of the Committee on European Affairs in the Bundestag in Berlin that the main topics of discussion with German MPs were Serbia’s European path and its relationship with Russia.

Brnabic noted that these were the issues on which all members of the Committee could ask her questions about the situation in Serbia, and that they were more dominant compared to the topic of protests in Serbia.
She emphasized that this was the first time a Serbian official had been invited to the Bundestag and added that the German MPs said their goal was to hear the "other side," given that "they always have the opportunity to hear one side."
"I would have liked to have had a little more time to respond, but still, this was the first time we had the opportunity to give our answers, which shows that something has changed here as well. You know, until now there have been various debates and discussions here, both in plenary and in committees, without the participation of any Serbian officials," Ana Brnabic said, thanking them for the invitation to present different views, positions, and responses.
Belgrade’s "Nikola Tesla" Airport hosted nearly 2.9 million passengers in the third quarter of this year, which is a 6.5% increase compared to the same period last year.
Serbia’s vision for EXPO 2027 in Belgrade goes beyond merely organizing a world-class global event - it is a bold signal that the country is emerging as a strategic center for innovation, exports to the EU, and international investment, the American magazine Fortune has assessed.
She added that the discussions also covered media freedom and dialogue with civil society organizations and emphasized that Serbia had answers to all the questions.
"It was quite tense, given that there was a set time for both questions and answers. Unfortunately, in some moments, three-quarters of that time were spent on questions, leaving me only one-quarter to answer all of them. However, I tried in the best possible way to explain everything that is happening in Serbia. Also, the focus was even greater on Serbia’s relations with Russia and our European path, and how committed we are to that path. So, that was a bigger and more dominant topic than the protests," Brnabic said.
