Vucic: Financial transactions are a bigger problem for NIS, warnings from the U.S. have arrived for the NBS
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated that, regarding the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), financial transactions pose a greater problem than supply, given that warnings have arrived from the U.S. to the NBS over the possibility of using the Dina card for payments at NIS gas stations.
Vucic added that Serbia will talk with the Americans to allow it for some more time.
"I want to tell people that, when it comes to oil, gas, and everything else, we are doing everything in our power - literally everything in our power. I don’t have to spell it all out for you; I just want people not to worry. I want you to know that we care about you, that we are taking care of heating, that we will secure enough fuel oil, enough gas, enough electricity - because without enough gas, we won’t have enough electricity either - we are fighting", Vucic told Pink.

"The bigger issue lies in financial transactions, and warnings have already arrived from OFAC and the United States for the National Bank and for the Dina cards, and so on. But we will talk with the Americans to allow it for at least some time", Vucic said, adding that this refers to payments by card at NIS gas stations.
