“Right now, we are small, as we are just starting, but we are very excited about the expansion. Newsmax is one of the most important news brands in the U.S., and it is important for us to have good connectivity and access to information across the Balkans. We are starting with the portal first; everyone will work hard both on the web and on news reporting,” shared Elert Yzeiri, Editor-in-Chief of Newsmax Balkans in Tirana, sharing his first impressions after the site launch.
Yzeiri added that, in addition to the portal, viewers in Albania will soon be able to follow a podcast he will host, and other digital formats are planned, including short-form content on the official YouTube channel.
Support and Assistance from Belgrade
Nikola Stojic, Executive Director of Digital Content at Newsmax Balkans, is confident that the team of editors and journalists in Tirana will continue the mission of timely and objective reporting.
“On this path, they will have our full support and assistance. By combining a regional approach - local languages and local and regional topics - with global standards, the goal is to build credibility and trust while maintaining journalistic ethics, impartiality, and giving space to different sides and voices,” emphasized Stojic.
Newsmax Balkans is the fastest-growing media company in this part of Europe, and after Albania, expansion is planned to Central and Eastern European countries – Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.
It is worth noting that the plan for Newsmax Balkans’ European expansion was recently presented in Washington, with the presence of congressmen, influential figures from U.S. political and business circles, as well as top management from the American cable network Newsmax and Telekom Srbija.
