Djuric in Washington with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Landau, discussions also covered NIS
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met in Washington, during his visit to the USA, with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, and one of the topics discussed was the preservation of the country’s energy security and the functioning of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS).
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to talk, Djuric said he was pleased to share the same enthusiasm with Deputy Secretary Landau regarding relations between Serbia and the United States.
Minister Djuric emphasized that Serbia attaches special importance to developing a strategic partnership and overall relations with the United States, which is among the key foreign policy partners of our country.
Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic met with representatives of oil companies that are the largest importers of petroleum products in Serbia, stressing that the state’s priority is to ensure a reliable and balanced supply of the domestic market with oil derivatives.
The European Union (EU) Ambassador to Serbia, Andreas von Beckerath, stated that the EU’s message to Serbia is simple: Serbia’s future lies in Europe, and the time for investment and reform is now.
