Djedovic Handanovic met with representatives of MOL Serbia, EKO Serbia, OMV Serbia, and the Secretary General of the Oil Companies Association of Serbia, discussing the stability of the petroleum products supply market, the Ministry of Mining and Energy announced.

She emphasized that in December and January, 20,000 tons of Euro diesel and 38,000 tons of gasoline will arrive to meet the needs of the state’s mandatory energy reserves, in order to additionally ensure supply security.

“We must continue to think strategically, as we have so far. President Vucic and government representatives are conducting intensive diplomatic talks with neighboring countries and with representatives of the European Union so that refineries in the region increase the share of petroleum products delivered to meet the needs of our market,” she said.

She stressed that it is the state’s duty to ensure that every filling station, wholesale buyer, and citizen has enough fuel for their needs – and that this obligation will be fulfilled.

Various Scenarios and Plans Developed

“The companies I spoke with are important for supply stability because they are the largest importers of petroleum products in Serbia and supply the largest share of the market after NIS. Imports of derivatives in December will follow market demand, logistics, and available capacities, and we expect them to proceed as planned and for supply to remain stable. The state is also prepared to use its mandatory reserves of petroleum products to maintain supply stability, if necessary,” she stated.

The minister concluded that various scenarios and plans have been developed, with clearly defined responsibilities regarding sanctions on the Petroleum Industry of Serbia, adding that the state is prepared and will take steps to preserve the stability of petroleum product supply while negotiations on NIS ownership remain ongoing.
