Prime Minister of Montenegro: I agree that the EU should be the final destination for the entire Western Balkans
Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic stated that the entire Western Balkans belongs in the European Union and that Montenegro will become a member in 2028.
He wrote on social media that he agrees with the statement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic that the full integration of the Western Balkans into the EU is the best idea, and expressed the expectation that Montenegro will achieve membership as early as 2028.
"I agree that the EU should be the final destination for the whole Western Balkans. However, we will be waiting for you there as early as 2028, and we cheer for you to genuinely hurry up and accelerate the other candidates from the region," Spajic wrote on X.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated that elections will be held either in May or December next year, but that it is more realistic for them to take place at the end of November or in December.
Telekom Srbija announced that mts 5G signal now covers major cities and roads in the country, and that users of this network can already take advantage of all the benefits brought by 5G technology, primarily higher internet speeds.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the best idea would be for all candidates from the Western Balkans to be admitted to the EU together as full-fledged members, adding that he will propose this at a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
"If you admit one, or two, or three of us, what happens with the rest? How will we deal with that? How will we resolve all open issues?" Vucic said at a panel titled European Competitiveness in a Fragmented Geopolitical Environment, held as part of the BELTALKS Forum organized by GLOBSEC.
He added that this concerns the future of the region, but also the future of Europe.
