Vucic with Von der Leyen and Costa in Brussels: We devoted special attention to the energy sector

Vucic: Elections in May or December, but December 2026 is more realistic

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated that elections will be held either in May or December next year, but that it is more realistic for them to take place at the end of November or in December.

Serbia is firmly committed to its strategic goal - EU membership - and remains a reliable and responsible EU partner in all processes that contribute to peace, stability, and the prosperity of our citizens," Vucic wrote.

He added that he exchanged views with the hosts on all the steps Serbia has taken toward implementing reforms and meeting its obligations.

"We devoted special attention to the energy sector, focusing on Serbia’s energy security and stability. We also discussed the momentum in European enlargement policy, the situation in the region, as well as opportunities to accelerate our European path," Vucic concluded.
