Veljko Paunovic has officially been appointed as the head coach of the Serbian national football team.

Nottingham Forest defender Nikola Milenkovic received the "Golden Ball" award for the best Serbian footballer of 2025.
At the ceremony held at the FSS Sports Center in Stara Pazova, in the women’s category, Lidija Filipovic (Spartak Moscow) was declared the best female footballer, and the best coach award went to Serbia’s national team coach Lidija Stojkanovic.
The most promising coach award went to Radomir Kokovic, the strategist of Zeleznicar, while the most promising footballers were Vasilije Kostov and Aleksandra Gajic.
National team coach Veljko Paunovic presented Kostov with the first “Code of the Representative,” which was introduced today, and a wave of emotion and a long applause followed after recalling the historic achievement in 2015 when the youth national team became world champions in New Zealand.
A special recognition was given to OFK Beograd coach Simo Krunic, who has continuously led the "Romantics" from the third league to the Super League.
