Representatives of the Hungarian company MOL will visit Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS) next week to begin a due diligence review of the company’s operations. During the visit, they are expected to tour all key NIS facilities.

This is a standard procedure in the process of acquiring oil companies.
On December 31, the U.S. Department of the Treasury issued a special license to NIS, allowing the Serbian oil company to continue its operational activities through January 23, 2026.
According to the company, the license enables NIS to maintain its business operations, contracts, and other agreements related to NIS and its operating subsidiaries.
Police intervened in the settlement of Botun near Podgorica after local residents prevented the start of construction works on a wastewater treatment plant. During the operation, several citizens were detained, including the President of the Municipality of Zeta, Mihailo Asanovic.
