Bosnia and Herzegovina Legalizes Cannabis for Medical Use
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has adopted a decision legalizing the use of cannabis for medical purposes.

Police intervened in the settlement of Botun near Podgorica after local residents prevented the start of construction works on a wastewater treatment plant. During the operation, several citizens were detained, including the President of the Municipality of Zeta, Mihailo Asanovic.
The Police Directorate announced that Podgorica police officers took measures and actions within their jurisdiction and brought 54 individuals to official premises after they prevented officers of the Communal Police from carrying out their official duties in Botun today and refused to comply with orders issued by police officers.
The leader of the Democratic People’s Party, Milan Knezevic, exited the police van after spending several hours inside. The police stated that Knezevic left the police vehicle of his own accord, in the same manner in which, according to their claims, he had earlier entered it.
Knezevic said that he left the police van only after all those detained in today’s police operation in Botun had been released.

After the information was gathered, more than half of those detained were released.
Representatives of the institution of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro were also present at today’s events, monitoring the conduct of police officers, with a focus on the use of coercive measures and respect for the rights of detained citizens.
This institution announced that, in the coming period, it will conduct interviews with citizens and collect additional information from the competent authorities in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the situation.
Interior Minister Ivica Dacic stated that during the incidents following the May 23 gathering in Belgrade, 17 police officers were injured and 47 individuals were brought to Interior Ministry premises, including one person holding a diplomatic ID card.
