Particular focus was on the position of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

In a post on Instagram, Vucic stated that the conversation was open and emphasized that he had particularly pointed out the challenges faced regarding the position of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

"I expressed particular concern over Pristina’s intention to begin implementing new escalatory and deeply discriminatory decisions as of March 15, which directly threaten the survival of the Serbian people", Vucic stated.

He added that he had appealed for the international community to treat these extremely important issues with the utmost seriousness and to do everything possible to ensure respect for the rights of the Serbian people.

"I also emphasized that the accession of the so-called Kosovo to a regional military alliance further raises tensions and endangers the security of the Serbian people. I stressed the necessity of taking concrete steps, without further delay, toward the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, which the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija have been waiting for for 13 years", Vucic added in his post.

He expressed confidence that it is in the interest of all parties to avoid moves that would lead to further escalation and, with EU mediation, to insist on the full implementation of undertaken obligations and the preservation of peace and stability on the ground.

Sorensen last visited Belgrade in mid-January, and on February 11 his mandate was extended for another two years, until February 29, 2028.
