The evacuation is being carried out by the Embassy of Serbia in Israel, which informed Serbian nationals about the evacuation on Monday over X, as well as by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the competent authorities of Serbia.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that the government will send Air Serbia planes to bring back Serbian citizens from the Middle East who wish to evacuate, as soon as the airspace in that region opens for civilian flights.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric has called on Serbian citizens who find themselves in the broader region of hostilities in the Middle East to follow the instructions of local public authorities, as well as the recommendations issued by Serbian embassies, in order to ensure their safety.
As stated, Serbian citizens will be transported to Egypt, from where they will be returned to Belgrade on a flight from Egypt provided by the Government of Serbia.
"The Embassy is in constant contact with our citizens and continues to monitor the situation on the ground", the statement said.
