One of the three patients who were seriously injured when the canopy collapsed at the train station in Novi Sad passed away at the Clinical Center of Vojvodina on Sunday.
"The patient had the most severe injuries. Despite the doctors' efforts and their fight, the outcome was fatal," said Dr. Vesna Turkulov, the acting director of the Clinical Center of Vojvodina.
She added that the injuries were life-threatening from the very beginning, and that doctors continue to fight for the lives of the other two seriously injured patients.
As a reminder, the canopy at the Novi Sad railway station collapsed on November 1st, killing 14 people and seriously injuring three others.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that around 70 people have been questioned so far.
Protests have been organized in Novi Sad and Belgrade in response to the tragedy.
The President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has continued consultations regarding the candidate for Prime Minister with representatives of two more electoral lists – "Ivica Dacic – Prime Minister of Serbia" and "Aleksandar Vucic – Serbia Must Not Stop."
