Additionally, the questioning of five employees from Serbian Railways Infrastructure has been scheduled.

The investigation order, dated November 22, covers 13 individuals.

The Prosecutor’s Office reminds that on November 1st, an order was issued for a construction expert evaluation to determine the cause of the canopy's collapse at the Novi Sad Train Station, as stated in the announcement.

For the purposes of the construction expert evaluation and further securing of evidence, in order to test the quality of the installed elements and materials, a sample of the building debris from the collapsed canopy was taken as part of the preliminary investigation and is being properly preserved.

The Prosecutor's Office adds that the extracted samples of construction materials were subjected to geometric and mechanical testing, which was ordered and carried out by the Institute for Material Testing – IMS from Belgrade.

"After all material tests were completed and the construction evaluation was finished, which was submitted to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office on November 20, conditions were created for the next phase of the criminal procedure and the issuance of the Order for the conduct of the investigation, while the remaining construction debris from the collapsed canopy is still being secured by the police," the statement said.

As a reminder, in the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad Train Station on November 1st, 15 people were killed, and two were seriously injured.
