Novi Sad Mayor on Resignation: It Was Politically Motivated, The City Has Nothing to Do with the Railway Station Tragedy
The Mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Djuric, stated on the show "Otvori oci" that the opposition's request for him to resign is "exclusively politically motivated," emphasizing that the City has no connection to the tragedy that occurred at the Railway Station.
"The City of Novi Sad has nothing to do with the tragedy that took place at the Railway Station, except for the fact that it is located within the city’s territory. The City has no involvement in the reconstruction, nor did it participate in the work, design, or supervision," Djuric told Newsmax Balkans.
The proposal for the removal of the Mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Djuric, was rejected by a majority vote in the City Assembly, and the session was concluded. 25 councilors voted for the removal, while 48 voted against it.
