Head of EU Delegation: Serbia has made progress in aligning its foreign and security policies with the EU
Emanuele Giofre, the Head of the EU Delegation, stated that Serbia has made progress in aligning its foreign and security policies with the EU compared to last year, adding that alignment in this area is one of the most concrete indicators of a candidate country's geostrategic orientation.
Speaking at the annual conference on the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy, organized by the Center for International and Security Affairs (ISAC Fund), Giofre emphasized that the Union wants further improvements in alignment with foreign and security policies.
"We need to see alignment and the willingness of candidate countries. Alignment is one of the most concrete indicators of a country's determination to become a member of the Union. Many countries have fully aligned, and EU member states have noticed and highly appreciated this. We call on Serbia, among others, to align even more with the EU's foreign and security policy," Giofre said.

President Aleksandar Vucic stated that during his meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Freiberg, they discussed not only mining projects but also Kosovo and Metohija, other key issues, and the geopolitical situation.
Speaking about the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, Giofre mentioned that the plan is an ambitious EU instrument, and one of its key areas is progressive integration into the common European market.
The reform agenda that Serbia has implemented as part of the Growth Plan aims, according to Giofre, to accelerate economic growth in Serbia and other Western Balkan countries, as they lag behind the EU member states' average, even though Serbia is the best in the region.
