National Bank of Serbia: Inflation in the next two years within the target range of three percent

Speaking at the presentation of the February inflation report, recently adopted by the NBS Executive Board, he stated that year-on-year inflation at the beginning of this year should be around the upper limit of the allowed deviation from the target, with the possibility that in some months it might temporarily exceed this limit slightly.

"After that, inflation is expected to gradually slow down and approach the central value of the target by the end of the year, which will be the level around which it will move until the end of the projection horizon," he said.

He added that the main factors contributing to this inflation trend will be continued restrictive monetary conditions, lower import inflation, and expected lower global energy prices.
