He expressed expectations that the number of participating countries will continue to grow rapidly and noted that it is now likely the number will surpass that of the last Specialized Expo held in Astana, Kazakhstan, which had 117 participants.
"While confirmations for participation in the EXPO exhibition continue to arrive, preparations for this prestigious event are progressing according to the planned schedule. Hundreds of workers and machines are active daily at the construction site in Surcin, as everything must be ready in a little over a year and a half — by December 1, 2026 — when we will hand over the pavilion keys to the participating countries," Mali said.
He emphasized that EXPO represents further growth, development, and strengthening of economic activity for Serbia, and as such, signifies a major victory for the country.
